My name is Tonya Dunn
I'm a daughter, wife, stepmom, full-time court reporter, and part-time artist.

Both of my grandmas were artists. They did everything from oils, acrylics, and watercolors to ceramics and sculpting. My mom was also one of the most creative people I know. She painted, sculpted, worked with stained glass, photography; and then in her later years became a master at Photoshop. She loved to take photos and then edit them in Photoshop.

So I guess you could say art runs in my genes. I didn't really discover it though until about 2020 when I started pouring acrylic paint. I fell in love. I'm drawn to abstract art. The movement and inconsistency is appealing to me. My husband jokes that I'll pour over anything -- just give me a chance.

In 2022 our house was in a state of construction due to a water leak and my dining room/art studio was inaccessible. I was craving creation and bought a Dollar Store set of watercolors, brushes, and paper. Something sparked inside me, and now I'm learning how to paint with watercolors. It's been a journey of sorts as the paint moves and reacts so much differently than acrylic. I am having so much fun through the process!

I love elephants and water, ie, a beach, our lake house, etc., so you may see a theme in many of the pieces I've created, either in the pictures themselves or the names.

I truly hope you enjoy looking through the pages of my art; and of course, if something speaks to your soul, buy it! Everything is for sale! :-) Thank you for stopping by!
